🏝️ Part of the Phu Quy travel guide · Updated 15 October 2026.
The hardest part of a disruption is not changing plans; it is not knowing what to do next. Before travelling to Phu Quy, save the carrier’s, accommodation provider’s and onward transport contacts. Climate averages cannot guarantee calm seas on your travel date.

1. Follow the right updates
Check the carrier’s notices and follow instructions at the port. Superdong’s schedule page says sailing times may change with tides and weather. Do not assume a boat will run or be cancelled based only on a forecast app; confirm directly with the operator.
For Hon Tranh or another marine activity, ask the operator about its stop-work threshold, refund or change terms and how updates are sent. Do not go to the pier without confirmation.
2. Leave a time buffer
Avoid booking a long-distance coach or flight immediately after the expected arrival in Phan Thiet. If your schedule allows, keep a spare night on the island or mainland depending on which sailing is affected. Ask your accommodation about the cost of an extra night, check-out time and extensions.
Keep receipts, messages and carrier notices. Refunds or assistance depend on each provider’s terms; do not assume every prepaid service is refundable.

3. If the sailing changes
- Save the notice and call the carrier through an official channel to confirm alternatives.
- Contact your accommodation with the new dates and ask about the cost.
- Tell your coach, train or airline about the connection and ask what changes are available.
- Before buying replacement services, check the refund or change terms for the original booking.
4. Before setting out
Check the marine forecast close to departure, and make sure your phone, mobile data and personal medication are ready. If you are prone to seasickness, ask a health professional what is suitable for you. See our ferry guide and flexible itinerary.

Information note: ferry schedules, weather, prices and opening times can change. Confirm with the provider and at the destination close to your trip. This guide is based on public sources, not an on-site report.
