🏝️ Part of the Phu Quy travel guide · Updated 15 October 2026.

A trip to Phu Quy should be planned around the ferry, not just a list of photo stops. Sea conditions can affect both arrival and return dates, so leave a buffer—especially if you have a coach, train or flight connection after reaching the mainland.
This guide is the entry point to MH Travel’s Phu Quy series, covering transport, itineraries, places to visit, food and practical checks. Fares, sailing times and local services must be checked for your travel date.

1. How do you get to Phu Quy?
Passenger boats to Phu Quy depart from Phan Thiet Port. Book through an operating carrier, read its change and cancellation terms, and recheck the official schedule close to departure. Superdong notes that sailing times may change with tides and weather. Check the Phan Thiet–Phu Quy route.
If you reach Phan Thiet by coach or train, avoid a tight transfer to the port. Allow time for ticket checks, documents, local traffic and delays on the road.
2. How many nights should you stay?
Two days and one night can work when the sailing schedule fits and you choose a few nearby stops. Three days and two nights allow more time to rest, eat and rearrange visits if rain or sea conditions disrupt the plan. These are pacing suggestions, not a promise that every service will operate.
Do not lock a boat trip to Hon Tranh into a fixed itinerary until you have confirmed departures, sea conditions and the operator’s terms.

3. Group stops by area
Phu Quy combines coastal scenery, hills and religious sites. Group stops by route to avoid unnecessary backtracking, and check access and parking locally. Ganh Hang–Bai Nho involves rocky terrain and changing surf; Cao Cat and Linh Son Pagoda call for suitable clothing and respectful behaviour.
Continue with our guides to the Phan Thiet–Phu Quy ferry, a two- or three-day itinerary and Ganh Hang and Bai Nho.
4. Budget and accommodation
Budget separately for return ferry tickets, accommodation, meals, local transport and activities run by an operator. Prices can vary by date, room type, availability and service. Confirm the unit, inclusions, refund or change rules and extra charges before paying.
MH Travel has not confirmed Phu Quy accommodation or tour services in its current product inventory. This guide is for trip planning; it is not a quote or booking confirmation from MH Travel.
5. Before you leave
- Check the carrier’s schedule and departure notices on the day of travel.
- Keep your ticket confirmation, identification and accommodation details handy.
- Leave a buffer before onward travel from Phan Thiet.
- Check marine forecasts and local conditions; prepare motion-sickness medicine if needed.
- Save the carrier’s and accommodation provider’s contact details.

Information note: ferry schedules, weather, prices and opening times can change. Confirm with the provider and at the destination close to your trip. This guide is based on public sources, not an on-site report.
