Where to Stay and How to Get Around Phu Quy

Choose accommodation alongside your ferry and transport plan, not from room photos alone. Confirm the map location, late-arrival check-in and who to contact if a rental vehicle has a problem.

1. Choose a practical location

Compare the address with the port, planned stops and places to eat. Ask for road distance, whether pick-up is available, check-in and check-out times and an after-hours contact. Straight-line distance does not tell you how long a road journey takes.

Confirm room type, guest capacity, air conditioning, hot water, Wi-Fi, luggage storage and refund or change terms. Keep written confirmation before sending payment.

2. Motorbike hire and local roads

If hiring a motorbike, confirm the vehicle, helmets, fuel level at handover, daily rate, deposit and breakdown support. The rider must hold the appropriate licence; wear a helmet correctly and never ride after drinking alcohol.

Island roads may be narrow or uneven. Slow down near homes, pagoda gates, fishing ports and coastal sections; do not stop in the road for photos.

3. Services and essentials

Do not assume taxis, ATMs, convenience shops or fuel stations operate all day. Ask your accommodation about opening hours and bring enough cash, personal medication, a power bank and mobile data. Confirm specific services close to your travel date.
