Along less than 4 km of coastline on Lac Long Quan Road, Tien Thanh packs in a density of 4- and 5-star resorts rarely matched anywhere in the South Central Coast — from the region's largest, Mövenpick at 248 rooms, to the compact and private Radisson at 76 rooms. This article helps you choose the right resort for your needs, including a few things booking sites often don't tell you.
📖 This article is part of the Tien Thanh Travel Guide cluster.
1. Not every resort labeled "Tien Thanh" is actually in Tien Thanh. Azerai Ke Ga Bay (Hon Lan area) and Rock Water Bay (Ke Ga hamlet) both sit in Tan Thanh commune — roughly 20–25 km south of Tien Thanh. Tan Thanh does border Tien Thanh ward, but both resorts are deep at the far end of the commune. If you're booking specifically to be near NovaWorld, check the map carefully.
2. The provincial address has changed. As of 1 July 2025, Binh Thuan province merged into Lam Dong province and the district level was eliminated. The correct address now reads Tien Thanh ward, Lam Dong province. Mövenpick, Radisson, and Sonata's official sites have all updated this; many booking sites haven't.

Quick map: which resort is where?
The first thing to know: Lac Long Quan is the same road as ĐT.719 — Sonata's official site lists its address as "Km 17, Road 719 (Lac Long Quan Road)." This is the coastal artery running from Phan Thiet through Tien Thanh down to Ke Ga. Understanding this road is understanding the entire resort layout of the area.

The international 5-star group
Mövenpick Resort Phan Thiet — the largest, best for families

- Scale: 248 rooms & suites — the largest in the area.
- Location: Hon Gio–Thuan Quy Road, Tien Hoa quarter, Tien Thanh ward, Lam Dong province. Just about 400m from the NovaWorld amenities cluster.
- Architecture: Dutch colonial inspiration, with grounds themed around the Caribbean pirate era. The centerpiece pool is shaped like a ship.
- Signature touch: Chocolate Hour — free chocolate daily from 3–4pm, a Mövenpick brand tradition worldwide. Executive/suite guests get access to the Admiral Club Lounge with afternoon tea and evening cocktails.
- Best for: families with young kids, large groups, and anyone wanting the water park, Dino Park, or the PGA golf course right next door.

Radisson Resort Phan Thiet — compact and private
- Scale: just 76 rooms & suites — under a third the size of Mövenpick, in exchange for privacy.
- Opened: 2022 — one of the newest resorts in the area, with equipment still in fresh condition.
- Architecture: a blend of Cham heritage (the old Panduranga region) and Scandinavian minimalism.
- Signature touch: Fika — the Nordic tradition of afternoon tea and pastries, served in a sea-facing space. The ULIVO restaurant serves Mediterranean-style cuisine.
- Best for: couples, people combining work with a break, and anyone who'd rather avoid a crowded resort.
✅ Correcting a piece of misinformation still circulating: a number of articles claim Radisson Phan Thiet won "Vietnam's Ideal Beach Resort 2024" from TripAdvisor. In fact, the resort won 4 awards from the Haute Grandeur Global Awards 2024 — Best New Resort, Best Luxury Boutique Resort, Best Destination Resort, and Best Corporate Resort. Still an impressive result — just not a TripAdvisor award.

The 4-star boutique & wellness group
Sonata Resort & Spa — a green oasis under the coconut palms
- Location: Km 17, Road 719 (Lac Long Quan), Tien Thanh ward, Lam Dong province.
- Architecture: two parallel styles — modern white-toned sea-facing blocks, and rustic thatched-roof bungalows with wooden interiors.
- Accommodation: Deluxe rooms facing either the lotus pond or the sea; beachfront bungalows; and 2–4 bedroom pool villas for large families.
- Dining: Sol restaurant (breakfast buffet), Sen (Asian–European fusion, overlooking the lotus pond), and the poolside Sea Breeze Bar.
- Best for: multi-generational family groups and anyone wanting a green, quiet setting.
Villa Del Sol Beach Resort & Spa — a private 100m beach
- Location: 37 Lac Long Quan, Tien Thanh ward, Lam Dong province.
- Standout feature: a private beach roughly 100m long, flat and clean — a figure consistent across multiple sources.
- Scale: roughly 10 villas. Note: room counts differ between sources (64–72), so confirm directly with the resort when booking.
- Amenities: spa, gym, outdoor yoga classes, coastal off-road cycling, karaoke.
- Best for: groups of friends and anyone who prefers a cozier scale over a large resort.
Two ultra-luxury resorts nearby — but NOT in Tien Thanh
The two names below often get lumped into "Tien Thanh resort" lists. They're well worth a visit, but you should know they're in Tan Thanh commune, a further 20–25 km along ĐT.719.

Head to head: Tien Thanh vs. Mui Ne
This is the question guests ask most. We'll give you both the upside and the downside — since picking the wrong base can throw off the whole trip.
⚠️ What few articles mention: the erosion season, November–February
Many promotional articles paint Tien Thanh as permanently untouched, even citing "Mui Ne's erosion problem" as a point in Tien Thanh's favor. That's not accurate.
Local press has documented the reality: every year during the northeast monsoon (roughly November to February), large waves combined with high tides cause serious erosion along the Tien Thanh coast. In one event, over 1,000m of coastline was eroded, 33 homes were damaged, and the sea cut more than 10m inland in places. The Tien Duc and Tien Binh quarters were hit hardest — with sections of concrete seawall damaged by wave impact.
💡 So how should you read this? This is not a reason to avoid Tien Thanh — it's a reason to time your visit right. Erosion concentrates in the late-year monsoon season; the larger resorts have all invested in solid seawalls. But if you book for December–January expecting the wide, flat sand you see in promotional photos, you'll be disappointed.

Which resort should you pick?
📅 Best time to visit: February–March. The sea is at its clearest, waves are calm, past the monsoon season and before the mid-year seaweed season. It's also the best season to visit Ke Ga Cape — low tide exposes a sandbar you can walk out on to the island.

A property perspective: what these resorts say about the area
For anyone considering buying property here, this density of 4- and 5-star resorts isn't just a travel fact. When Mövenpick, Radisson, Sonata, and Villa Del Sol all chose to build along less than 4 km of coastline, that's a vote made with real capital in Tien Thanh's prospects.
That carries three direct consequences for property owners: coastal infrastructure gets upgraded to serve premium guests; service pricing and rental rates anchor at the higher end; and, most importantly — a resort-going guest base already exists to draw on for rentals.
