Most thrill rides have a minimum height requirement. Kids under six usually don't meet it for most rides — worth knowing ahead so you don't promise a ride and then have to take it back right at the line.

Height thresholds are tied to the force and speed a ride generates: a child below the threshold can be thrown out of position within the restraint. This is a technical figure, not an arbitrary rule.
The smoothest approach: check the height chart before joining the line. A kid who never expected to ride won't be disappointed; standing in line for half an hour only to be turned away is what actually ruins the outing.
Three rules posted at the beach
The safety sign posted at the beach lists three rules, and all three are worth reading carefully when traveling with young kids:
1. Swim only within the lifeguarded area
This zone is marked by a line of floating buoys out on the water, with a lifeguard station on shore. Going past the buoys means leaving the lifeguard's field of view.
2. Always keep young kids within reach
That means within arm's reach, not just in sight. In shallow water, a single wave is enough to knock a small child off balance.
3. Don't go in the water when the sea is rough
This area gets a lot of wind, so waves can change fairly quickly through the day. If a lifeguard signals, head to shore right away — even if it still looks fine to you.
Beyond these three rules, one more applies specifically to kids under six: a properly fitted life vest, put on while still on shore, not once already at the water's edge.
