A trip to the coast isn't complete without a seafood feast. In Mui Ne, seafood isn't just fresh — it's incredibly varied, from everyday favorites like scallops, clams, and spotted babylon snails to premium picks like lobster and mud crab. To help you avoid getting overcharged or served something other than what you ordered, MH Travel has put together a list of 10 trusted seafood restaurants with transparent pricing, all regularly frequented by locals.
Why Is Mui Ne Seafood So Good?
The waters off Binh Thuan are unusually rich in marine life, thanks to sitting in an upwelling zone that brings nutrients up from the ocean floor. This helps shrimp, crab, squid, and fish here grow well, with firmer, chewier, naturally sweeter meat than in many other coastal regions.
A note on the province's name: as of July 1, 2025, Binh Thuan merged with Lam Dong and Dak Nong into a single Lam Dong province. Mui Ne – Phan Thiet now falls under Lam Dong; the name "Binh Thuan" is kept in this article since it's the name travelers know this area by.

Top Seafood Restaurants Along the Mui Ne Seafront (Nguyen Dinh Chieu Street)
Along Nguyen Dinh Chieu street sits the heart of Mui Ne's casual seafood scene, commonly called the "Mui Ne seafront." The common thread: you can sit right by the water, eating and listening to the waves.
1. Bo Ke Mr. Crab (a crab specialist)
One of the most popular, busiest restaurants along the seafront, with two branches close to each other.
- Strengths: A very spacious, clean setup. The live-seafood selection area is professionally arranged with dozens of oxygenated tanks. Staff weigh transparently and dishes come out fast.
- Must-try: Steamed crab meat, grilled tiger prawns with salt and chili, grilled scallops with scallion oil.
- Reference price: 250,000–450,000 VND/person.
- Address: 112 Nguyen Dinh Chieu and 179 Nguyen Dinh Chieu, Ham Tien, Mui Ne.
2. Bi Bo Restaurant
Bi Bo stands out for fresh seafood at prices slightly lower than the bigger restaurants nearby.
- Strengths: Well-seasoned dishes in a rich central-Vietnamese style. Their tamarind-fried or lemongrass-chili-fried snails get high marks.

A long-running restaurant without heavy marketing, but with a loyal base of regulars.

Top Seafood Restaurants in Central Phan Thiet & Doi Duong
If you're staying near the city center or looking for the spots real locals go, head to the Hung Vuong or Pham Van Dong area (along the Ca Ty River) or Doi Duong beach.
4. Cay Bang Restaurant (upscale seafood)
Considered one of Mui Ne's veteran restaurants, often chosen by companies and VIP groups.

Top Seafood Restaurants Near Tien Thanh (Near NovaWorld)
As NovaWorld Phan Thiet has grown into a major coastal resort city, the Tien Thanh area has also seen quality seafood restaurants pop up to serve the crowds staying at the villas there.
6. Hai Tuan Seafood (Tien Thanh)
- Strengths: Close to NovaWorld, convenient if you're renting a villa there. An open-air space with a view toward Ke Ga point.
- Must-try: Fermented-rice cobia fish, fried milk squid in fish sauce, grilled sea urchin with scallion oil.
- Reference price: 250,000–400,000 VND/person.
7. Mui Ne Fishing Village Market (buy it yourself, cook it yourself)
For the most authentic — and cheapest — experience, head to the Mui Ne Fishing Village early in the morning (around 6–7am). At this hour, boats have just returned from the catch and pile fresh seafood right onto the sand.
- Tip: Pick out your own shrimp, crab, or blue crab at about a third of restaurant prices. Then bring it to a nearby stall or eatery to have it boiled or steamed for a small preparation fee (around 30,000–50,000 VND/kg).
- Or even better: Bring the fresh catch straight back to your rented villa and host your own garden BBQ. It's about the most satisfying — and cost-effective — way to enjoy seafood on this trip!
3 "Golden Rules" for Eating Seafood in Mui Ne Without Getting Overcharged
- Ask about prices before ordering: Always ask to see a menu with clearly posted prices. If a dish is priced by market rate, ask exactly what the per-kilo price is that day.
- Pick and weigh it yourself: Never order sight-unseen from the table. Walk over to the tanks, point out the shrimp, crab, or fish you want that are still swimming healthily. Watch as staff weigh it (check whether the plastic basket is holding excess water) and confirm the final weight on the spot.
- Check the finished dish: When the food arrives, visually confirm it matches what you ordered. Steamed crab should still have all its claws intact, with firm, not mushy, meat.
